Join Rachel Kirk at Branklyn Garden for an introduction to willow weaving workshop.

In this 3 hour workshop, you will learn how to weave a leaf frame basket with step-by-step instructions. This workshop is a great introduction to frame basket techniques for beginners and will be led by Rachel Kirk of Rachel’s Willow Designs, a basketmaker and willow sculptor based in Abernethy. You will make the frame using a forma, weave willow to cover the frame then add two Japanese knots to secure both ends of the basket.

A leaf frame basket looks lovely on a sideboard or dining table where it can hold fruit, sweets or nuts. It also makes a beautiful basket for holding keys on a console table.

All materials and tools are included, and refreshments will be provided.

This workshop may not be suitable for those with hand/joint mobility issues.

Following the workshop why not have a wander around the garden, enjoy a light lunch in our tearoom or partake in a spot of retail therapy in our plant and gift shop.
