The Scottish Basketmakers Circle are delighted to announce that the Worshipful Company of Basketmakers 2011 Charitable Trust have awarded £4,500 funding to the SBC to increase access to expert basketry tuition across Scotland.

Funding has been awarded to subsidise the cost of expert tutors at the SBC Autumn Gathering, enabling more SBC members to attend the gathering in the future.

In addition, supplementary funding has been awarded to enable SBC Regional Groups to bring in expert tutors to teach their local members, and subsidise venue hire costs.

The Worshipful Company of Basketmakers very much hope that this will help make the Autumn Gathering a huge success and that it will also assist with the work that the Circle is doing with regard to the Regional Groups, which they know from other areas is vitally important for the trade.

The SBC committee will provide further details in due course on how regional groups may apply for funding and how the sponsorship for the Autumn Gathering will be delivered for the benefit of members.
