Join Max Johnson at his yurt-workshop in Blanefield to weave your very own garden trug. This is a 2-day class, and because oval bases are slightly more difficult than round ones, the workshop is only suitable for those who have woven a few round baskets already.

We’ll cover how to weave a ‘continental’ oval base, 4-rod waling skills, French randing, using packing to create a swooped shape, and wrapped handles.

The class will run from 10am-4pm on Saturday and Sunday 13-14th June, 2026. My workshop is just outside of Strathblane/Blanefield, which is 30 minutes North of Glasgow. I will provide tea and coffee, please bring a packed lunch with you.
