Join Max Johnson for a week of residential basketry classes at the amazing Gartmore House this March. Whether you’re a beginner or an improver, if you’d like to treat yourself to a few mindful, relaxing, satisfying days of learning and honing basketry skills and deepening your understanding of weaving materials, then this is for you.

From the cosy grandeur of the house itself, we’ll forage for materials in the overgrown, ramshackle Victorian walled gardens and semi-wild patches surrounding the house. We’ll combine our gatherings with some farmed basketry willows throughout the week, creating a range a woven items that will build your basketry skills. If the weather permits it we’ll weave outside, if not we’ll have a dedicated weaving room in the house.

Five night residential course running Sunday to Friday, including 3 meals per day and 4 days expert tuition. £879 based on single room occupancy.
