Mehfil-Cèilidh: Open Call for Skye and Lochalsh artists: An International Cultural Exchange between Lochalsh & Skye, and Islamabad, Rawalpindi & Lahore.

We are looking for 2 local artists to take part in a fully funded international creative and cultural exchange, connecting artists from Skye/Lochalsh, with artists in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and Lahore in Pakistan.

The exchange will involve a series of online sessions spanning six months, and a seven-day trip to Pakistan – where a group of five artists will travel to Rawalpindi, Lahore and Islamabad, and participate in various cultural activities and artistic workshops hosted by the Pakistani group. In return, the Lochalsh/Skye group will host a five-day visit here, welcoming the Pakistani group to share their practices and experiences with the local community.

This project is in partnership with Quaid-i-Azam University, supported by the British Council International Collaboration Grant, and invites artists and creative practitioners to explore shared and different traditions of storytelling, music, dance, and cultural expression.

The visits will take place in Pakistan in April 2025 and in Skye in May 2025, with online meetings and sharings from February 2025.
