Finding Fibres
Saturday 19 September
Workshop 1 – 1.30 to 4.30pm, Cost £40 (£30)
This workshop will focus on making string from plants growing in wild and cultivated habitats. We will find out how to identify, harvest and process a range of plants, explore different methods of making string and consider their role in basketry techniques
Binding Brushes
Sunday 20 September
Workshop 2 – 9.30am to 4.30pm, Cost £75 (£50)
Simple hand brushes from local materials all over the world are supremely practical, for clearing cobwebs, dust, ashes and more. They also have symbolic value, enabling us to sweep away anything we don’t need or want. We will use local fibres, bound with hand made and commercially manufactured string. We will explore a couple of different styles in this full day workshop.
Book both courses together for £100 (£75)
