Lochview Rural Training Centre, Lairg, Sutherland

We are delighted to welcome Aurore Whitworth who is a crofter and basketmaker in Skerray at the Wild Croft.

You will make a small round basket perfect for harvesting berries or a few eggs. You will work from a round base and learn basic traditional stake and strand techniques and how to peg a handle. This is a nice first basket for people who want to try their hand at willow weaving. All tools and material will be provided.

Please bring a packed lunch and a mug/flask. Tea and coffee will be provided.
We are based on a working croft which means parking can be tight – please where possible we would ask that you car share. lease also be aware of other users when arriving and parking.
