Willow bark is a material with a wide variety of uses, including making cordage, as a source of tannin and also aspirin, and as a material for making containers of various styles and types. Willow strips or sheets can be woven or stitched using a number of techniques to produce interesting and attractive patterns and textures.
Tim Palmer will introduce participants to harvesting and preparing willow bark and, through making a simple tub, introduce them to the techniques used that will allow them to experiment and develop further their use of this wonderful material.
Bring a packed lunch, we’ll have tea and coffee available.
